In this paper, capillary gas chromatography, flame thermal ionization detector FTD and electron capture detector ECD were used to study the separation behavior of 86 pesticides. The 86 pesticides were investigated in four different fixed liquid fused silica capillary columns DB1, DB5, DB7 The relative retention time and the number of incompletely separated peaks on DB1301 show that it is difficult to obtain complete separation of 86 pesticides using these four capillary columns. Different columns exhibit different relative retention times. Some columns only provide incomplete separation of peaks The DB1 capillary column showed the best separation behavior for these pesticides. These conclusions provide important information for the analysis of pesticides
